3 jalapeño peppers, stems trimmed.

This simple infusion results in a very fragrant and gently sweetened vodka that makes lovely cocktails. I've no idea how long this will keep because it disappears quickly.

Ingredients | Jalapeno Pepper Infused Vodka

2 pounds strawberries, hulled and quartered

1 liter vodka

Directions

Place strawberries in a clean, dry sealable container; add vodka. Seal container and store in a cool, dark area until strawberries lose their color, 3 to 4 days. Remove strawberries and strain vodka into a container.

The vodka doesn't have to be top shelf, but the quality will effect the outcome. You may wish to add a cup of sugar to round off the alcohol finish.

For long-term storage I like to re-use the original bottles.
